Improve aides to include 'Mentors' and remove 'lower level only' aspect
• What the mentor would do: focus on MASTERIES & PROFICIENCIES, leveling masteries and unlocking new proficiencies.
- Assigned like the aids. The character would gain bonus exp for masteries and learn the proficiency of the mentor character. A character like Marchelle would still have an innate proficiency with Light Magic, but if mentored by Gilbert the Dark Magic proficiency can be unlocked. The player would choose which proficiency is active from the skills menu. The character can have either an aide or a mentor, not both.
• Suggestion: Remove the 'lower level only' aspect of aides and let me use the training camp to set aides in advance..
• Addresses problems with:
• Helps with the issues mentioned in point 1 above.
• Embraces player choice by facilitating class choices different than those pre-baked by the devs.
• Boosts the replayability.
• Adds complexity to character choices.

ODS GeeK AdminWe like the idea of having a mentor system, but this would unfortunately not be something we implement for Lost Eidolons as it is a massive undertaking. We wish we had thought of this before we released the game.
To go into a bit more detail: masteries is one of the core growth elements in Lost Eidolons, so facilitating mastery gain would significantly affect the overall balance of the game.
We will consider the mentorship idea for our future projects.
