Blacksmith Gear Crafting/Refinement or Both

There's a blacksmith in camp, but he doesn't do anything. The gear merchant only offers entry equipment and never sells anything special or higher tier. Only the special rare gear merchant sells rare gear, but it's nothing too special. I would love if we were given ability to craft our own gear by finding resources/spending gold and/or be able to refine gear to increase their stats or add special diablo-like modifiers that could make fights more interesting and less puzzle-like on harder difficulties. Of course, all this will mean we will need more gold income as well.

Actually, following the game, the other merchants begin to upgrade the quality of the stuff they sell.
But being able to reforge an item trait like from Placid to Serene with money would be a nice feature at the blacksmith.

Later on I feel like the BlackSmith could be used for something as well, instead of waiting for the special rare NPC to come sell you rare items, why cant you use the actual body parts of the monsters we fight to do crafting at the BlackSmith?

This is an excellent suggestion and one that hurts a little because we did have more plans for the blacksmith in the beginning. But as we tweaked the game, he was left with his current role. We cannot really do anything with the blacksmith without touching the core loop of this game, but we would love to have more for the blacksmith if and when we work on our sequel. Tell your friends about Lost Eidolons to help make it happen! ;)
